Star Ocean: The Second Story's Claude C. Kenni as the legendary Warrior of Light. Commissioned by Maiji for her Warrior of Light project. In Star Ocean: The Second Story, Claude is mistaken as the foretold visitor from another world (dressed in "alien rainments") who will save Expel from evil, but what does the true Warrior of Light look like? That is the concept of this picture, and this is my interpretation.
Because he's meant to be a messianic figure, I made him look angelic or even godly. I wanted the picture to have a nearly religious feel (think Michelangelo's "Creation of Adam"), mixed with sci-fi, since he's supposed to be from a completely different world. I decided the Sword of Light should be organic, so that only the Warrior can wield it. The sky is tinted an ominous red to indicate something's not right in the world the Warrior is descending into.
